Our First Project

Tanzania Clean Water Project

Recently, The Sky is Not Limited teamed up with African Reflections Foundations (Tanzania) to undertake the first solar powered well pump in the region.  This partnership was formed to help the rural people of Tanzania have better access to clean drinking water.   The village where the project was undertaken already had a deep well pump in place which was being powered by a diesel generator.  The generator was using dirty and expensive fuel.  Often the villagers would not run the generator due to fuel costs, resulting in the same problem for them- lack of clean water.

The Sky is Not Limited, in conjunction with African Reflections Foundation, arranged for this well pump to be replaced with a solar powered one.  This new well pump eliminated the necessity for expensive fuel and allowed the villagers to run the pump much more frequently.   This project was installed in November 2011.  Our organization hopes to continually partner with African Reflections Foundation to actively install more clean water projects throughout the region.   Special thanks to Maria Pool!

Africa trip

Several days after we finished the well project, a magical rainbow circle appeared around the sun throughout the region and lasted for several hours.

2009 Recap

The summer of 2009 was very successful for The Sky is Not Limited.  Once again, we teamed up with Reverb to have displays in the Eco-Village.   We provided concert goers with free drinking water at concerts in Syracuse, N.Y. and Bethel, N.Y.  We gave concert goers rides on our solar powered golf cart at Jones Beach Theater on Long Island, N.Y. Our raffle prize for the summer was 4 tickets to see Dave Matthews Band at Jones Beach Theater.  Congratulations to Carol A. of Long Island for winning the raffle!

Our non-profit was also extended an invitation to be a part of the 2009 Gathering of the Vibes festival in Bridgeport, C.T.  Throughout the festival, we provided members of Vibe tribe with rides on our solar powered golf cart.  Our staff gave out complimentary coffee, water, and tea to all those who stopped by our display.  The coffee was brewed using two solar electric panels set up directly behind our tent.  It was 100% renewable and very much in theme with our mission.  We would like to thank Harry Moran, director of the Sustainable Village, for allowing our non-profit organization to be a part of this event.

About

Our company’s aim is to provide drinking water to people in need all over the world. The Sky is Not Limited has been set up as a non-profit publ ic charity to help get people clean water.

The organization plans to set up stations for providing water to people throughout the world. Stations will use solar power, or photovoltaics, to generate electricity. Electricity can be used to power well pumps or electric heating elements.

Many areas which have no clean water have no electricity, which makes solar electricity the perfect solution for the problem of dirty water.

Well pumps can pump water during times of sunshine.  Electric heating elements can boil water for sanitation.  Site specifics will determine which approach well use to provide safe water.
